Capstone Allied Health was founded by Lauren Fouché in 2022, with the vision of providing sought-after services to a desperately under-serviced and high-demand population.

Lauren has special interest in dysphagia (swallowing disorders) and complex medical and neurological conditions. Having worked in hospital settings in South Africa, she developed a strong foundation in adult acute care. In addition, she has experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with complex neurological backgrounds, and is committed to supporting families to achieve meaningful communication outcomes.

Lauren grew up and studied in South Africa, completing her undergraduate degree in 2015 and her Master’s degree in 2017. Her clinical background includes extensive acute hospital experience working with complex medical conditions affecting swallowing and communication. She maintains a special interest in swallowing-related conditions, complex neurological presentations, and head-and-neck conditions (including total laryngectomy and head and neck cancers).

Lauren emigrated to Australia in 2021, and moved into working within the NDIS space, all whilst dreaming of starting a practice targeting a population that was evidently desperately under-serviced. During 2022 her plans started coming into fruition, leading to the birth of Capstone Allied Health.
